Background: Lieutenant-Colonel (retired) Katherine Vigneau is the owner of KMVS Fleet+ Consulting. Kate spent 26+ years in the Canadian Army holding various positions in logistics and transportation in Canada and abroad. She spent four years at the Joint Warfare Centre in Stavanger, Norway leading the Logistics training of NATO forces before her retirement in October 2010.
She has been an active volunteer with NAFA – Fleet Management Association since 1999. She worked on education projects and has been the Vice Chair (2005-2007) and Chair (2007 to 2009) of the Certification Board, and Canadian Vice-President (2009-2010).
Since 2010, LCol (retired) Vigneau has worked as a fleet and training consultant serving clients such as NATO, NAFA, the United Nations, the Canadian military, Natural Resources Canada and other government and corporate organizations in Canada and the U.S.

Fleet Management Experience: LCol (retired) Vigneau accumulated hands-on experience in fleet management during her Army career commencing as a transportation Platoon Commander and culminating as Fleet Manager for the Department of National Defence, responsible for policy oversight and management of a fleet of 32,000 vehicles.

Consulting Experience: LCol (retired) Vigneau has extensive experience providing consulting services to a broad range of fleets covering all issues related to fleet operations. She has done dozens of general best practice studies, reviews of specific functional areas such as risk or maintenance and utilization reviews. She has assisted internal auditors in evaluating fleet services in several Canadian Municipalities.
Canadian Fleet Experience. LCol (retired) Vigneau has specialized in working with Canadian fleets which include the University of Western Ontario, Saint John, Quesnel, Red Deer, Trent Lakes, Prince George, Medicine Hat, North Bay, Port Moody, Waterloo, Victoria, Metro Vancouver, OC Transpo, York Regional Police, EPCOR and York EMS.

Achievements: LCol (retired) Vigneau is the columnist for “Kate’s Corner” in Fleet Digest and a contributor to Fleet Solutions, Government Fleet, Automotive Fleet, The Municipal and others. She is a frequent speaker at fleet and procurement industry events and has delivered fleet training for Department of National Defence, NAFA, AEMP and NATO. She teaches a Fleet Specialist course at Georgian College and was awarded the George Bell Medal for academic excellence and the NAFA Excellence in Education award for her dedication to the fleet industry.
